The heated body should not be used with a dump liner. The heat will warp the dump liner beyond repair. [ Back to top ]![]() Why do I need a QuickSilver liner?
You need QuickSilver for your profits. Because QuickSilver is nearly as slick as a Teflon frying pan, you can haul more loads per day, year round, with less chance of your trailer tipping over. Also QuickSilver outwears steel (1.5 : 1.0) and aluminum (3.0 : 1.0) and yet weighs less than both 1/8th the weight of steel and 1/3rd the weight of aluminum. More loads per day with fewer problems means more profit for you. Also, QuickSilver has been field tested for over 15 years with the product staying the same over that span of time. Other competitors have changed their formulations and products at least 3-5 times during this time span. [ Back to top ]![]() Why choose QuickSilver over the other liners?
QuickSilver is manufactured by Quadrant EPP, the world's largest producer of UHMW. As a leader in engineered plastics, Quadrant EPP develops and produces many different grades and types of plastics. They also pioneered many fabrication techniques currently used in the lining industry. With various plastics and fabrication techniques available to us as the National Distributor, they chose the best combination for QuickSilver. Quadrant EPP currently is the only plastic processor in the United States to manufacture and market a dump lining system. While QuickSilver's competitors must rely on suppliers for plastic fabrication methods, Quadrant EPP provides QuickSilver with superior and proprietary fabrication techniques. QuickSilver is simply the best dump lining system in the world. Further, Aero Industries has taken the QuickSilver product on as the National Distributor in North America. With Aero Industries reputation in the industry, the synergy between Quadrant EPP and Aero Industries is unmatched. [ Back to top ]![]() What types of plastic are QuickSilver and DURAPRO?
QuickSilver is a unique, industrial strength plastic developed exclusively for lining dump trucks. The QuickSilver formula was designed specifically for its superior slickness and wear resistance. More specifically, QuickSilver is an enhanced formulation of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE). DURAPRO is a reprocessed blend of UHMW-PE. Approximately 75% of the formulation is virgin UHMW-PE, with the other 25% reprocessed resin. [ Back to top ]![]() How long will QuickSilver and DURAPRO last?
The life of your QuickSilver liner depends upon each individual application. However, the laboratory and field tests we have conducted over many years have repeatedly concluded that QuickSilver will outwear steel 1 1/2:1 and aluminum 3:1. These results can vary significantly with the specific application. In a simple sliding wear application, if your aluminum floor wears out every year, QuickSilver should last about 3.0 years or more. The average QuickSilver liner will last about 7 years, even in dedicated hot asphalt hauling. In general, DURAPRO will last about 5 1/2 years; however, it must be understood that DURAPRO cannot be sold in hot asphalt applications because the welded seams will fail! As a general rule of thumb, DURAPRO will have about 20-25% less wear resistance than QuickSilver. [ Back to top ]![]() How does a QuickSilver floor liner install?
QuickSilver has a quick and easy installation system. The QuickSilver floor liner is installed with approximately 14 fasteners at the front of the dump and leading edge protectors installed along both sidewalls. The leading edge protector is a guide for the QuickSilver material, allowing for thermal expansion and contraction. You can install QuickSilver yourself with basic shop tools using our complete Installation Guide or see a nearby QuickSilver distributor. For hot asphalt applications, the installation varies a bit. First of all, you can only use 1/2" QuickSilver. Further, a hot asphalt hold down plate is recommended as part of the initial installation process. (This hold down plate eliminates the problem of the curling QuickSilver rear end.) Finally, the bolting pattern is different than in non-asphalt applications. Please refer to the installation guide for more details. DURAPRO installs the exact same way as the QuickSilver non-asphalt installation. [ Back to top ]![]() How long does it take to install a liner?
In a dump truck that is in good condition, a typical QuickSilver floor installation takes 8 to 10 man-hours. With most installations, the dump truck is down for only a day (two people, four hours). [ Back to top ]![]() How much does QuickSilver and DURAPRO weigh?
QuickSilver and DURAPRO weighs an eighth of steel's weight and a third of aluminum's weight, gauge for gauge. Per square foot, the material weighs as follows:
![]() Can I haul demolition with a QuickSilver or DURAPRO liner?
QuickSilver or DURAPRO is not recommended for demolition hauling. However, if you take a few simple precautions the liner does not need to be removed for the occasional demolition haul. To protect the liner, you should add a layer (~12" deep) of dirt, sand, or gravel before carefully loading the demolition. You should never use the liner in an application that includes re-bar. [ Back to top ]![]() Who services my QuickSilver liner?
As the National Distributor, Aero Industries will work with you to find a local service facility. QuickSilver and DURAPRO are known in the industry as having a very low service requirement which means if you follow the Preventative Maintenance Schedule (located inside the Preventative Maintenance Guide), you should avoid needing any service on the liner. [ Back to top ]![]() Is there any preventative maintenance necessary for dump liners?
As with any industrial product, there is a need for monthly preventative maintenance. Please review the Quicksilver Preventative Maintenance Guide.pdf for further details. [ Back to top ]![]() Can I haul hot asphalt or hot products with a QuickSilver liner?
A 1/2" QuickSilver liner is the only liner that will handle hot asphalt. [ Back to top ]![]() I recall that you should only use QuickSilver in hot asphalt that is less than 350 degrees F. Is this still true?
No, in fact, the manufacturer of the product will warranty 1/2" QuickSilver for hot asphalt produced at any temperature. [ Back to top ]![]() When ordering a Quicksilver or DURAPRO liner how do I know what thickness is best for my application?
Reference the Dump Liner Usage and Application Chart .pdf. [ Back to top ]![]() Can I haul Super pave mix with a liner material?
Yes, a QuickSilver liner is formulated to allow the release of a Super Pave asphalt mix. [ Back to top ]![]() In hauling boulders or any heavy hauling materials what do I need to do to help protect the liner from damage?
Putting a 12" layer of dirt in the bed prior to loading boulders will help protect your dump liner. As a reminder, you should not haul anything with re-bar. [ Back to top ]![]() Do your QuickSilver or DURAPRO liners have any warranty?
