Conestoga 2 is here!
The new Conestoga 2 features many innovations and improvements including never-before-seen "bow shocks", a new tarp tensioning system and an attractive, sleek look highlighted by the polished front bulkhead with corner marker lights and sleek radius lines. Conestoga 2 retains Aero Industries' innovative wheel and track system, the only system in the industry where the steel wheels glide on a stainless steel track insert. The new look starts with a DOT legal width, smooth, polished bulkhead. It is the only sliding system bulkhead in the industry tested to meet DOT load rating standard #CRF393.114(c)(1). The new "bow shocks" reduce road shock and add to the longevity of the tarp system. The standard double uplift bows reduce tarp sag to about 8 inches and the optional quad uplift bows reduce tarp sag to about 3 inches, maximizing internal clearance. Another feature of Conestoga 2 is the panelized tarp that looks like it is one, smooth, piece. Panelized tarps reduce maintenance costs by allowing damaged sections to be easily replaced. The aluminum bows are hidden, providing a continuous surface for graphics. The tarp fabric is specially formulated for Conestoga 2 and has a urethane outer coat to provide a clean shiny appearance. The tarp automatically seals between the track and bump rail. An internal rubber seal minimizes air entry and stabilizes the tarp. The new system eliminates the need for the cable in the bottom tarp hem. This feature further reduces maintenance costs by eliminating the need to replace the cable. The bump rail is a patented Aero design and, in addition to helping the tarp seal, protects the tarp during loading with forklifts. Also new on the Conestoga 2 is the rear locking mechanism. It allows the driver to determine and set the proper tension and is easily operated from the ground. The rear lock mechanism travels with the rear bow assembly, there are no cumbersome ratchets and straps or bulky devices to remove and store. The front-locking mechanism is a positive-catch design allowing the driver to simply turn a crank to draw the front bow securely to the bulkhead. It eliminates the risk of latches not locking. Finally, the Conestoga 2 maintains Aero's rugged reputation. Aero's superior design and engineering created a product that is tougher, yet easier to use than any other sliding tarp system. Continuous improvement and high quality standards help ensure your products will operate as smoothly as the day they were purchased for years to come. Conestoga 2 made its world debut March 22-24, 2007 in Louisville, KY at the 36th Annual Mid-America Truck Show (MATS). With over 1100 exhibitors and 80,000 attendees, MATS is the industry's largest tradeshow and a fitting stage from which to launch the most important, and anticipated, product to come from Aero in years. Aero made an impression with nearly 5,000 square feet of exhibit in the South Hall. The booth showcased all of Aero Industries' products, including a full-size, fully operational, Conestoga 2. "Yes, the Conestoga 2 was our primary focus, but MATS is too important an opportunity to ignore our other product lines," says Joe Wolfcale, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Aero Industries. "With products like Easy Cover®, our line of flatbed accessories including boxes and bulkheads and even dump liners, MATS gave us an opportunity to showcase the quality, ingenuity and breadth of the entire product line." In addition to Aero's booths, Aero products were on display throughout the show floor in other OEMs' displays. The "floor" for MATS is over 1,000,000 square feet. In 2005, Tradeshow Week reported MATS was the 18th largest tradeshow. We hope you had a chance to visit us during the show! Order Templates Now Live on the Web

Aero Enhances its Quality Efforts with Mary Snow
Please help us welcome Mary Snow to the Aero organization. She will take on the role of Quality Systems Manager for our Indianapolis facility. In this role, she will continue to enhance our quality initiatives, taking over our quality management system. Activities will include reviewing the quality manual, establishing supporting procedures and developing specific work instructions. She will also be responsible for investigating opportunities for continuous improvement, implementing corrective and preventative actions when appropriate. Mary has a great deal of experience in the quality management field having spent 13 years leading quality initiatives at companies like, General Motors, Hughes Aircraft and Harman/Becker. Mary advises her favorite part of the job at Aero is, "feeling like I am able to make a difference everyday. It helps when you have great people and products to work with." Mary is a native Californian and now spends most of her free time trying to keep up with her three sons' activities. All three are actively involved in football and baseball. Welcome to the Aero team, Mary! Kim Reynolds, Regional Sales Representative - Streetsboro
Kim kicks off 2007 with a renewed focus as the Regional Sales Representative for Aero's Streetsboro facility. Kim's new responsibilities include growing, managing and maintaining Aero's relationships with the major trailer OEMs, fleets and dealers within the greater Cleveland area. In addition, Kim will have responsibility for increasing Conestoga sales in northern Ohio. Kim knows the product line well. In March, she will celebrate six years with Aero. Prior to that she was with OCA for five years before they were purchased by Aero. She has worked her way from the production floor as an installer, through scheduling and now Regional Sales Representative. Outside of work, Kim's life revolves around her six year old daughter whose activities include basketball, baseball and dance. Prior to OCA, Kim worked at the "Little Tikes"® toy factory, so she really hasn't changed her job much. She just moved from little toy trucks to big trucks! Steve Keba, Facility ManagerStreetsboro Facility
Steve Keba joined the Aero Industries family in October of 2006. As the Facility Manager for Streetsboro, Steve is responsible for all aspects of the plant's business. This means everything from tarp installation, to scheduling, to daily sales activity. He has to keep a sharp eye on sales and makes sure the plant is fully staffed and operating as efficiently as possible. "What Aero said it was, it is," says Steve. "I heard a lot about the customer as I talked with them, and sure enough the customer clearly comes first with Aero Industries." He feels Aero offers a great work environment and provides him with a broader experience. That is one of the reasons Steve was persuaded to join Aero after 21 years with Kennametal where he started in sales and was promoted to a Business Unit Manager. So what does Steve do for fun? Well, he has five sons ages 8 to 19—he coaches football and rides dirt bikes and quads. What else would you expect? |
